Great North Windows & Doors: we’re your Muskoka window store.
Casement
Casement windows (also known as crank windows) have a single sash that’s hinged on the side and cranks open vertically on a metal track. The sash opens with the turn of a handle, making casement windows a great choice for hard-to-reach places such as over counter tops and sinks. Whether you’re looking for new or casement window replacements, double casement windows, or have questions about types of casement windows and casement window sizes, we can help.
Double Hung
This window style has two sashes that glide up and down. Our double hung windows operate at the push of a finger and have classic design features that complement any living space. Double hung tilt windows have the added convenience of sashes that tilt into the room so you can clean the outer glass surface from inside.
Awning
These versatile windows have a single sash that is hinged at the top. With awning style windows, the sash swings open from the bottom, creating an “awning” effect and enabling you to have the window open even when it’s raining. Modern awning windows are often combined with other window styles to add a unique effect to any room.
Shaped Units
These direct-set, stationary windows are all about adding drama and light to your room. Choose rectangular, radius, geometric, or custom shapes. Use them alone or in combination with other window styles for a stunning focal point.
Tilt & Turn
Tilt and turn windows (often simply called “tilt turn” windows) offer elegant European styling with two distinct functions: they swing in like a door or can tilt the top of the sash for ventilation, with a single handle controlling both operations. The tilt turn is ideal for providing fresh air or access in cases where an egress option is needed. European tilt and turn window designs are often used instead of a door to access a Juliet balcony.
90° Corner
Add drama to the corners of your home design by opening them up to more glass. Designed to give you more view and less distraction.
Bay or Bow
Bay and bow windows extend outside a wall to open up a room, providing three-dimensional views and light while simultaneously providing a cozy interior nook. Bay windows are comprised of three or more windows that form corner angles, while bow windows feature curves instead of corners and have four or more connected windows. Whether you need assistance with bay window installation or replacement, or to find out more about bay window prices, drop us a line.
